Each Year the International Day of Peace is observed on September 21st. This year the UN’s theme on the event is “End Racism. Build Peace” COERR supported Peace Building activities organized in each Temporary Shelter, aiming to enable their community members to join and express love and well wishes to each other, in order to build Peace and Calm and End Conflicts. COERR Mae Hong Son supported Ban Mae Surin Temporary Shelter in Mae Hong Son Province’s Khun Yuam District, in the Peace Building event that started with Kindergarten’s performance, followed with the elderly’s show. The Peace Building event was organized on September 21, 2022 with 133 participants. COERR Mae Sarieng supported the events organized on September 21th, consisting of singing contest and quiz about peace building. There were 365 participants in Ban Mae La Oon Temporary Shelter and 237 in Ban Mae Lama Luang Temporary Shelter, Sob Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province. COERR Mae Sot supported the Peace Building event organized by the Youth in Ban Umpiem Temporary Shelter, Phop Phra District, on September 21st, for 300 participants; in Ban Mae La Temporary Shelter , Tha Song Yang District, on September 30th, for 350 participants. For Ban Nupho Temporary Shelter in Umphang District, Tak Province, several art classes such as how to string beads, to paint plaster molds, drawing and painting about World Peace Day, etc. were held in Mobile Child Friendly Spaces during September 1st -24th, in which 568 children attended these art classes for mindfulness and patience. COERR Kanchanaburi also supported the Day of Peace in which 350 people in Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter, Suan Phueng District, Ratchaburi Province, participated in the drawing and painting, essay and poem writing competition on “End Racism. Build Peace.”, on September 15, 2022. Then in Ban Don Yang Temporary Shelter , Sangkhlaburi District, Kanchanaburi Province, 300 people attended the Cultural Performance Competition on September 20, 2022.
